Owner Builder SA
Hello Owner Builder in South Australia!
You may already know this but the rules in South Australia are slightly different compared to other states.
It’s not compulsory to complete an Owner Builder course in SA however owner builders are required by law to meet the same legislative requirements relating to building work as licensed builders. Because of this, The Owner Builder Club thinks it’s a really, really good idea to complete an Owner Builder course simply to gain the knowledge and understanding of how to owner build.
We also provide some great information across this site and particularly in Pre-Plan section.
Further, the SA Government Department of Planning will be a main point of contact for you as an Owner Builder building or renovating in SA. Make sure you add the Customer Service number to your speed dial as they will be a great ‘go-to’ for information, guidance and support throughout your build.
Now whilst The Owner Builder Club does not currently endorse any training organisations, we have made it easy for you by providing the links below to the main Registered Training Organisations.
If you decide to do a course, make sure you do your homework and choose a provider that you believe will deliver a course that will meet your expectations.
Simply click on a course provider below.
Alternatively, hit the ‘Click Here‘ button below and the link will take you direct to the SA Government Owner Builder document.
